How Many Kilometres Of Range Are Available In The All-New Third-Generation 2026 Nissan Leaf?
June 17 2025, Centennial Nissan

For the 2026 model year, the all-new third-generation Nissan Leaf has undergone a complete reengineering. This isn't just a re-think, it's a radical transformation.
Here's what we know so far.
- • The 2026 Nissan Leaf will come to Canada from Nissan's plant in Tochigi, Japan.
- • There are two charge ports: a conventional J1772 port and a Tesla-style NACS port.
- • Vehicle-to-load capability means you can use the Leaf to send power to external devices.
- • It's slippery – the drag coefficient is down to just 0.26.
- • A heat pump will warm the interior; there'll also be a heater available to precondition the battery for winter charging.
- • Side-by-side 14.3-inch screens will be front and centre in higher trim levels; 12.3-inch screens are standard.
- • Wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto is standard.
- • The available panoramic sunroof has heat shielding to avoid super-warming the cabin.
- • An available Bose Personal Plus audio system includes a driver-centric speaker, meaning the driver can take a call while music still plays in the cabin.
- • Power rises as high as 214 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque with the 75 kWh battery. (There'll also be a smaller battery option with 174 horsepower and 254 lb-ft of torque.)
- • In the most efficient trim levels, range for the 2026 Nissan Leaf will rise to 488 kilometres.
- • The 2026 Leaf is expected to arrive in Canadian showrooms in the fall of 2025.
