Nissan EV Incentives: Maximum Value in 2026
February 18 2026,
The federal Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP) is now in place — and 2026 offers the highest level of incentive support available.
Eligible vehicles purchased or leased on or after February 16, 2026 qualify, with the program officially launching April 1.
Savings are applied at the dealership at the time of purchase.
How Much Can You Save?
In 2026:
- $5,000 for fully electric vehicles
That amount decreases annually starting in 2027:
- 2027: $4,000
- 2028–2029: $3,000
- 2030: $2,000
Eligible 2026 Nissan Models
Nissan vehicles qualify because they are produced in Japan, a country with a free trade agreement with Canada.
$5,000 Federal Incentive
- Nissan Leaf (S Plus, SV Plus, Platinum Plus)
Vehicles must:
- Be new (or demo models under 10,000 km)
- Have an MSRP under $50,000 (excluding freight/PDI, winter tires, financing, warranties, incentives, and down payments)
Additional PEI Incentives
In Prince Edward Island, the federal incentive can be combined with the PEI Universal EV Incentive:
- $4,000 additional for EVs
That means a qualifying Nissan Leaf could receive up to $9,000 in total incentives in 2026.
Why Act Now?
Incentives under EVAP decline each year. If you’ve been considering an electric vehicle, 2026 delivers the maximum savings opportunity.
The switch to electric has never been more accessible — and the time to act is now.
