The Refreshed 2024 Nissan Sentra: Release Date, Upgrades, Improvements

Improved fuel economy, standard Safety Shield 360, upgraded tech, and revamped styling are the key enhancements delivered by the updated 2024 Nissan Sentra.
The new Sentra is set to go on sale in Canada toward the end of summer 2023 with S, SV, and SR trim levels. Both the S and SR are available with a 6-speed manual transmission. The 2024 Sentra SR can also be equipped with an SR Premium Package:
- sunroof
- 6-way power driver's seat
- 8-speaker Bose audio
- Around View Monitor
- NissanConnect Services and WiFi hotspotting
- LED headlights and DRLs
All Sentras are powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder cranking out 149 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque. This revamped 2024 Sentra's automatic transmission has been redesigned for lower fuel consumption and smoother acceleration. Idle Stop Start – which can shut the engine off at traffic lights, for example – is also included on the 2024 Sentra.
Interior tech begins with a 7-inch centre screen featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto linked to a 4-speaker audio system. The Sentra SV and SR use an 8-inch centre screen and 6-speaker audio.
Key upgrades in the Sentra SV include alloy wheels, proximity access/pushbutton start, adaptive cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated seats, remote start, and the aforementioned 8-inch centre screen. There's also a separate sunroof option on the SV.
Moving up to the more performance-oriented 2024 Sentra SR adds 18-inch alloys, dark chrome exterior trim and red SR badges, a heated steering wheel, and assorted pieces of sporty bodywork. Safety Shield 360 is standard kit on all three Sentra levels:
- automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection
- blind spot monitoring
- rear cross traffic alert
- lane departure warning
- high beam assist
- rear automatic braking
- forward collision warning
Safety Shield 360 uses audio cues and haptic feedback through the steering wheel to provide alerts. Other advanced tech elements on 2024 Sentras include Intelligent Driver Alertness, Rear Door Alert, and Easy-Fill Tire Alert.
