Meet The Nissan MAX-OUT Electric Sports Car Concept

After a decade of leading the charge for electric vehicles to enter the mainstream auto market, Nissan is now adding the Ariya SUV to the brand's electric lineup that currently includes the second-generation Leaf. But now it's time for Nissan to showcase the future. Unveiled on November 29, 2021, this is the Nissan MAX-OUT electric sports car concept.

With laser-focused precision on aerodynamics, the 2021 Nissan MAX-OUT features a boat-tail design reminscent of recent styling from Rolls-Royce and McLaren. Let's not get ahead of ourselves: the Nissan MAX-OUT isn't going to be in a Nissan showroom tomorrow. Nor next year for that matter.

The MAX-OUT is a design exercise and an opportunity for Nissan to reveal its electric intentions: Nissan is spending USD $17.6 billion on electric development over the next five years, development that will include a spotlight on all-solid-state batteries.

Eventually, it will become normal for you to hear about ASSBs in Nissan showrooms, batteries for electric cars that are thinner, lighter, more effective, and more affordable.
